Interracial Relationships

Regardless of what year it is some people are still bothered by interracial relationships. I happen to be a product of one. My mother is Mexican-American and my dad is African-American. I'm from a teeny tiny town in south Texas.  

Growing up around here during the 80's wasn't easy. I was either never good enough for the hispanics and never good enough for the blacks. I didn't really realize I was different until about 4th grade when someone called me a nigger. In all honesty I had no idea what that was.  My parents split up after my sister was born and she and I were raised by our mom who is Hispanic. I was raised a Hispanic child I didn't no any different ( I just figured I was just a dark mexicn lol). 

Being bi-racial at times can be very hard especially when you're a kid. Its even worse when ignorant adults follow you around stores (it happened more times than I'd like to admit). In my opinion I think we have it worse because we get discriminated against by our own races and society. But the one thing that bothers me the most is all these people nowadays who think all bi-racial kids are cute and they must have one. We aren't an accessory! We have feelings! And I'm sure you won't be looking forward to wiping your child's tears when he/she comes home crying because they were being bullied because of the skin color. Even though its 2013 racism and close mindedness still exists. Think before you go out and try to make your designer baby!

FRIENDS? How many of us have them?

The one thing in life you should always count on is friends. Friends? No matter how many of them we have we still feel unfulfilled. Friends come in different sizes, shapes and colors.  It's very rare that you will find a friend that is REAL or TRUE to YOU.

This generation knows nothing about true friendships.  I've had the same best friend since I was 12 years old, i'm 30 years old now.  We may not always see eye to eye but in the end she is still my best friend.  I have 'several' best friends.  Most girls are lucky enough to have one, i'm blessed to have 4. Each one of them is different and we all have different relationships with each other.  Aside from best friends, friends in general are hard to find.  I've had friends stab me in the back more often than i'd like to admit.  I've had friends steal my boyfriends and i've had a few get me fired from a job.  Now before you sit their and think damn what did this bitch do to deserve this, I will tell you.  I did nothing.  I hold my friendships really high and expect the same in return, sadly i've learned that outside of my 4 girls I can't really trust anybody. Which is a shame.  I love to have fun and talk with friends but lately i've realized that things don't work like that all the time. *sigh* Life is complicated and sadly full of drama :(  Until next time folks

It's a complicated thing. Especially for those of us with social anxiety. Oh well, its one of those things you can't ignore.

Insomnia

*sigh* insomnia kicks your ass! I'm sitting outside at least it's not hot ( I live in Texas) This weekend is my boyfriends  birthday :) yay! I'm off from work so that's even better. I may not show it but I'm happy in my relationship. It's different and still kind of new after almost 2 years together. Live in Texas is hectic and hot, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Random thoughts lol time for songs zzz's goodnight peeps :)
